Opening Thoughts & Predictions

So, this is adulthood now.

September was the introduction, like a honeymoon period. October is where I actually have to figure out how to live with it.

Work is no longer something I was preparing for, but something I am actually doing. The novelty will probably wear off eventually, and then comes the fun part: figuring out routines, expectations, finances, commuting, and whatever else I forgot to account for.
Everything that my family gave me that I treated as an expected fund, may slowly slip away from me.

I suppose the goal for this month is simple: survive long enough to stop feeling like I just started.
1 month down, 2 more months to see if this probationer becomes a permanent addition to the team.

BBQ Pork Wanton Mee Small [Restoran JC Plus]

RM 8.50
Breakfast

First of the month, and somehow it's another client meeting. I woke at 6, gamed, cleaned myself, and arrived at 7:15am or so.

Some stalls aren't opened yet, and Gemini suggested something on the "lighter" end. It even said my previous meal here is a fine choice, but why would I eat something that I had tried previously.

  • Ordered small as I'm anticipating eating a bigger lunch
  • 8? pieces of BBQ Pork, they taste fine at first but eating more I feel the fried version is better.
  • 3 Wantons, their taste could be better meat wise
  • 4 Pork Lard pieces, they taste lardy (aka good)
  • Vege amount is... small, to say the least.
  • (For those who may wonder why not mamak when it's cheaper, let's blame Gemini)

I exited the restaurant at 7:43am. I arrived to client area at 8:53am, which is a little too early (even went to check my tyre pressure & cleaned my car a bit). Maybe I overestimated the time I'd get stuck in traffic or navigation hell (Waze said 50mins or so yesterday, so I went for a 1.5x - 2x buffer). Guess that's a lesson learnt for next time.

Single Crispy [Ayam Gepuk Top Global • Kinrara]

RM 14.50
Lunch

Post-meeting and I must say: "The future is not about coding, but understanding requirements/customers/talking" (something along the lines, per CEO). All went well I can say.

My water is going to run out, and I was thinking of Gepuk, since I never had it in... since 2026-06-22 as mentioned in 2026-09-24, so might as well.
It may have been a semi bad idea as it was peak hour (SMK morning session kids are leaving school). But thankfully there's space in Giant for me to park, and to walk there, with seats available (there's a Pak Gembus but it's yet to be opened just a few shops ahead)

  • 5 pieces of raw cabbage, 1 thick slice of cucumber
  • Crispy chicken (without it it'd be slightly cheaper IF drink tagged along). Tastes a little funny towards the end, but it is freshly hot
  • Rice, added once (half, or suku?) Hot = good
  • Sambal, spicy, added once (half)
  • Nut sauce, added once (full)
  • Sirap Ais, sweet as expected

Kai (Whatsapp): "ng u kena scam ke; u go eat mixed rice get more than that; either way ur ass got scammed harder than [censored]"

Well, once in a while scam. I guess I should just pay parking & eat S11, or something more worthy of my time.
Also a little weaker than my peak self. I can finish my meal, but it's less "worthy" now since I'm not devouring rice or sambal gajus.
